Do I need to choose a cake from your gallery?

No, all my cakes are custom cakes made to order.  If you have a design or theme in mind please contact me on 07956 944504 or via Contact us tab to discuss this as I am confident we I can design an individual cake perfect for you.

I can't see a certain flavour on your menu, can you create it?

I have a choice of flavours & fillings to choose from, however, if you have a particular flavour in mind that you don't see listed, please contact me .

Do you deliver?

Yes, I deliver free of charge within a 5 mile radius of Wingate, Durham. 

Having your cake hand delivered gives Cake Inspirations the responsibility for ensuring that your cake arrives in perfect condition and on time.

Venues over 5 miles are subject to an additional charge, please contact me and I will be happy to provide a quote.  Alternatively, you can collect your cake in person.


How far in advance due I need to book my cake?

I will endeavour to do everything I can to accommodate your order, however I work to a maximum number of cakes per week and will not compromise quality through quantity.


I usually require at least 3 months notice for wedding cakes and at least 2 weeks for celebration cakes is sufficient, however to avoid disappointment please order as early as possible to secure your date. 


*Please Note: 3 months notice is required for our rich fruit cakes  to ensure they mature to their best.

What if I need a cake at short notice?

Should you need a cake at short notice please contact me as it may be possible to accept your order depending on how many bookings I have.

Can I choose a different flavour cake for each tier?

Yes, you can have different flavours for each tier or you can have them all the same.  The choice is yours.

How do I pay?

Payments can be made by cash or bank transfer. For more details please contact us.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, once the order is placed a deposit of £100 for wedding cakes and 50% for all other cakes is required, which is non-transferable and non-refundable.   The order is confirmed on receipt of the deposit and no guarantees can be given on availability until the deposit has been paid.

When will I need to make my final payment?


Balances for wedding cakes are due 28 days before delivery/collection or set up. All other cakes must be paid in full 7 days before the event if paying by bank transfer, otherwise cash can be accepted on delivery/ collection. Where the cake has been paid in full and I have been given 14 days notice of cancellation the balance less the deposit will be refunded.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

As all cakes are baked to order from our family kitchen and I don't have a designated kitchen for allergen free baking I regret I am unable to guarantee my cakes are free from allergens.

What if I am allergic to certain products?

Please be aware that whilst your chosen cake may not be made with ingredients containing specific allergens, it is prepared in a kitchen where other allergens may be present. A full list of ingredients and allergens for each product is available upon request.  Please also note raw materials used may have been produced in a factory where other allergens are present.
